I got this gel sponsored by my doctor, and she got it from http://www.diabeteswereld.nl/. Thanks again!
The Jubin gel weights only 40 grams and contains 32 grams of sugar. On the side of the package there are stripes to indicate how much gel you got left (0 to 40 grams). The gel itself is transparant.
When I first tasted it it was just like my experience with the Maxim energy gel citrus fruits. Both gels do have the pure citrus flavor with a aftertaste wich is very short. But when I was half way on this, Jubin, gel, I knew the differences. The Jubin gel's taste isn't as strong as Maxim's gel, and the aftertaste is even shorter (well, there isn't a real aftertaste at all).
The main goal for this gel is to get your bloodsugar back (up) to normal levels. This can be done the fastest way with sugar (glucosesirup in this case). But sugar gives energy as well: from this sugar (glucose) we make glucoronolactone, which gives an energy boost. I didn't feel it that much, but it worked for it's main goal: raising your blood sugar fast to a normal level.
