P6

Price: €1,79
Contains: 250ml

P6 has two energy drinks. This is one of them: the regular one. The other one is the P6 energy-secco, an energy drink mixed with prosecco (an alcoholic drink). I ordered both from a webhop, but the energy-secco was out of stock, so I could only buy the regular, too bad...

Packaging:
The mainly black with orange can looks great in my opinion. Orange, black and silver do match well, and especially in the way it is used in this can.

Slogan:
The slogan is in German ('Deine Energie für die Nacht'). Translated to English it is 'Your energy for at night'. Sounds good, and not selfish at all, but it seems like it wants us to believe that it gives energy to go the whole night partying.

Taste:
When I cracked open the can the well-known Red Bull smell came out. This was the moment I didn't feel like trying the drink anymore, but I had to. When I sipped it, it tasted like Red Bull, but different. It has a little almond touch with makes the drink far from a Red Bull clone. It tastes odd, but good at the same time.
The aftertaste was about the same, but with the Red Bull gone pretty quick it was an odd one. It was just a decent aftertaste.

Kick:
I drank this drink in the afternoon, after a regular day at school. The next day was Saturday, so if I could stay up all night, or fall asleep around 6 in the morning and just have 1 hour of sleep, it wouldn't be a problem at all.
But, after drinking the drink, I fell asleep in about 90 minutes. That's not really what you should call a whole night of energy.

Price/Quality Ratio:
Just to recap: The drink tastes odd, but decent, the kick is near-worthless and the drink is pretty pricey. I would only recommend buying this one if you want to taste another flavor of energy drinks, but that's it.

Sponers Liquid Energy Plus

Price:
€2,49
Contains: 70 grams

I got this energy gel from a German webshop, which means it is very likely that this is an 'one-time' energygel.
The gel is produced in Switzerland.

Packaging:

The shape of this gel is the way I always imagined it. A toothpaste-like look with a pop-off top.
The design makes sense. Blue, gray and white are the main colours, with some yellow, white and yellow text. The biker on the right side makes sense as well; energy-boosting products are actually meant to enhance performance in events that require energy, such as biking.

Slogan:
On the package itself I can't find a slogan, but on there site I can. It's 'faster, longer, better'. It's a pretty selfish, isn't it? You could say it's selfish, but you could also say it's the truth, and we'll find out which of those two it is.

Taste:
The gel isn't as sticky as the other gels tested so far, and that's a good thing I think. The flavor of this gel is totally different from the others. The most common flavor is lemon/citrus fruits, but this one is -against my expectations- caramel-flavored, with just a little lemon touch. Karamel-lemon has been know as a good combination for a while, and this gel proves it again. But it's is a little overdone in sweetness. Sweet is good, but when you can feel your teeth rotting away while having something, it's obsiously too sweet.

Kick:
To rate the kick, I consumed this gel as it tells me on the package. Halve the gel (35 grams) and one glass of water. My first question was how big the glass should be, because I got glasses from 50ml up to 500ml. This was a big point to me, because too less or too much water influences the effect of the gel.
I choose a 330ML glass, which was about perfect. I did the kick rating twice, once a day for two days, because I had to consume only half the gel.
Both kick-ratings resulted in the same thing. A great kick, better than the other gels. Way better actually. The kick lasted long, for like 2 hours at school (I did one test at 7:30, one hour before my lessons started, which makes the total kick about 3 hours)

Price/Quality Ratio:
It's an expensive gel, but a good tasting one with an awesome kick. It's worth the €2,50 if you're in serious need of an energyboost. But for everyday consumption it's just too expensive.

Fritz Kola Kaffee

Price: €1,19
Contains: 330ml

A new cola-coffee mix. Since I love those drinks (it all started with Coca Cola Blãk) I'm buying every single one I can get my hands on. So let's see how good it is.

Packaging:
Fritz Kola Kaffee comes in 330ml glass bottle. It's way higher as, for example, Coca Cola's glass bottles, but it doesn't seem to be a lot smaller.
The bottle has 2 labels, both brown. It fits all great with the Cola-Coffee. On both labels are 2 faces, probably from the makers of this drink.

Slogan:
Why should they have a slogan? Come on, it's just cola...

Taste:
When I opened this bottle, a pretty stong coffee smell came out. I really wanted to try it, and so did I. When the drink touches your tongue the first thing you'll notice there is nearly no carbonation. After that you'll taste it. First the Coffee taste comes is, but disappears pretty fast as well. When it is gone, the cola comes in. It's a decent drink, I've had better cola-coffees.

Price/Quality Ratio:
The P/Q of this drink is decent. It's a decent drink, it's just bad compared to Coca Cola Blãk, but you can buy nearly 1 litre of this one instead of 1 bottle of Coca Cola Blãk. This is a great drink for every day, and not for real enjoyment with a movie or something ike that.

Angel

Price: €1,89
Contains: 0.33L

I bought this drink at a German webshop. The reason to buy this one was its odd shape.

Packaging:
As already mentioned in the introduction I bought this drink because of its odd shape. I hoped for a shaped can, but that is -thinking clearly- nearly impossible. But the packaging still is great. It's like an energy gel packaging, but without the energy gel inside.
The package is great to chug from, just because of the fact the material will dent. So there is no need for air inside the package. The package has a twist-off top, which is very common with energygel packages, but this one is bigger, which makes it easier to get some grip on it and twist it off.
The design is nice. White as the basic colour, with red graphics and silver accents on the angel drawing and silver text ('Natural Energy') beneath the red 'Angel' text.

Slogan:
The slogan of this drink is 'Fly naturally higher'. It's a great and fitting slogan, because angels are supposed to fly, and it's a natural energy drink. The 'higher' comes, most likely, from the idea this drink gives a bigger boost as the other naturals around.

Taste:
This drink has an odd taste. I love odd new tastes, but I can understand people who don't. The drink tastes like a mixture of different kinds of red fruit. The two fruits you'll taste the best are pomegranate and guarana. It's a weird, but decent mix.
The after taste is very long and strong of. It's like guarana only. It's weird, but decent again.

Kick:
There wasn't much of a kick for this one. I felt a little energyboost coming up. It was a decent kick according to other drinks I've had, but for a natural one it was great.

Price/Quality Ratio:
If you love natural drinks, or love energygel packaged drinks it's worth the €1,89. If you love new, odd tastes it is as well. But it is not an every day drink for sure. It's like a drink to enjoy once a week or so, or just for once, for the whole new taste experience.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel - Alliance Edition

Price: €2.00
Contains: 0.33L

I bumped into this can when I was scanning Vlissingen for the Monster Nitrous cans and potential other cans for my collection.
I was delighted when I just found this drink but less delighted about its price: €2,-
I don't play WOW, but as a can collector (yes, I also collect 'normal' cans besided energy drinks), I couldn't resist taking both this one and the Horde Edition home with me.

Packaging:
This drink comes in the commonly sized soda can.
The can is all within
the theme of the popular MMORPG World Of Warcraft.
On the one side there's some text; it has the Mtn
Dew writing on it and the World Of Warcraft logo on the top.
The other side displays an female Alliance character, from which I've told it's a Night Elf.
The most dominant color is a nice, dark shade blue.
I really like the can for this one; Mountain Dew did a great job designing the Game Fuel cans.

Taste:
I cracked open this can and then poured it into the glass.
The drink itself is colored blue (not very surprising) and there isn't rea
lly a prominent smell, only some hints of fruits.
The can claims that the drink is 'Dew with a punch of Wild Fruit flavor', well let's see.
The drink is not very special, but then again, it's not bad at all.
If I could take a guess... Hmm... 7Up with a fruity touch?

Price/Quality Ratio:
I bought this drink for 2 euro's, which is a little pricey in my opinion.
But there's a reason why it was so expensive; you see, I didn't buy this drink at a genuine supermarket or something, I bought it from a lady that had her own shop.
She had to drive across the country to pick them up, and it's logical that she wants to make some profit.

She

Price: €0,99
Contains: 250ml

This drink is probably the first female-friendly energydrink we can buy in The Netherlands. It's a temporary offer in the local supermarket. The She-company donates €0,05 to Pink Ribbon with every can.

Packaging:
The can is pink. Which fits perfectly within the 'female-friendly' and Pink Ribbon theme. In the top white bar there is the text 'No calories - No sugar', again the hint: it's female friendly. On the lowest white bar are some ingredients. Then there is the big 'She' text, with a devils tail on the H. The text is in a Superman like logo and the background has a scratched paint look. It's a great can for such a charity and purely designed for women. Why? Well it's not a can a guy like me wants to be seen with too often...

Slogan:
I can't discover a true slogan for this drink.
I did notice that, instead of the usual 'Energy Drink' writing, there's a 'Super Energy Drink' text below the She logo.
I will not count that as a slogan, though.

Taste:
The drink has a very prominent peach taste.
In fact; if I didn't know any better, I would've thought that this drink is just a peach softdrink.
It's lightly carbonated, and the overall taste is pretty good, actually.

Kick:
The usual: not very noticeable, but you know it's there.
That's all.

Price/Quality Ratio:
99 Cents is a decent price for this drink, especially when you know you're contributing to such a great charity, you won't miind buying this drink every once in a while.

Mr. Martin's Liquid Smoking Herbalizer

Price: €1.29
Contains: 0.25L

I bumped into this can when I was hunting for new energy drinks.
It's not an energy drink, but I'll display the can in my collection anyway, because it's so awesome.

Packaging:
As mentioned in the intro, the can for this drink is very ingenious.
They meant to pull off a can that represents a pack of cigarettes, and it worked out perfectly.
I also really like the parodied warning sign that contains the words 'No warning needed'.
The shadow details, which consist of lines running diagonally over this can, really add something.
Yeah, the can is brilliant allright.

Slogan:
The slogan for Liquid Smoking is 'The Alternative'.
Well, I won't say that it's something original, but it works and fits well with the theme.

Taste:
When I cracked open the can, a strong cinnamon smell entered my nostrils, along with some lesser noticeable smells that I couldn't really identify.
The drink is toneless with some bubbles, making it look a bit like 7Up.
I took my first sip and wasn't very pleased with what I tasted.
The taste is very 'special', but not in a very positive way.
As I expected from the smell, there's a cinnamon smell which is really predominate.
I also taste some small hints of lemon and anise.
This combination might sound brilliant, but in practice it's far from that.
The taste does not work out well, and the carbonation kind of kills it even more.

Price/Quality Ratio:
The drink is a little bit expensive, especially when you consider that the taste is malicous.
But I'm sure that can collectors are willing to pay €1.29 for the brilliant can, they barely care about the taste anyway.

Speedway Light

Price: €0.36
Contains: 0.25L

Having to taste this drink sends shivers down my spine.
Why? Well, we already voted Highway Light as the most disgusting energy drink ever.
This is just a drink that's supposed to replace it to clear their name.
I had the regular variant of Speedway yesterday and (as you can read from that review) I wasn't very pleased with the taste.
Well, here goes nothing.

Packaging:
Same issue as with the regular variant; the can looks excactly like its predecessor, except for the name and the used font.
I still think that these cans have 'childish' plastered all over them, and I'll recommend Speedway to make a better design that really catches the eye and is considered 'cool'.
There are a lot of possibilities when you're using cars as your main theme, but Speedway chose the wrong way.

Slogan:
No slogan, that's fine with me.
As I mentioned in the previous review (about the regular Speedway drink), I don't have hard feelings about the low-budget or store brand drinks not having a slogan.

Taste:
As mentioned in the little intro, this was the aspect I feared the most.
The smell and looks were all the same, so nothing special here.
The taste is worse than the taste of its predecessor.
Only now I don't suspect dirt being a secret ingredient, this time I swear I can taste something like turpentine.
Not that I ever tasted turpentine, but I can imagine the taste by smelling it, and I think now I know what it would taste like (mixed with a little bit of energy)...

Kick:
No kick at all.
I was positive about the kick on the regular Speedway one, but this is a true disappointment.

Price/Quality Ratio:
36 cents?! I want my money back!
The P/Q is just bad, 36 cents might not seem much, but the drink somehow manages not to match up to its price.
