Wild Dragon

Price: €0.79 (0.25L) or €0.89 (0.33)
Contains: 0.25L or 0.33L

I was just cruising around a small mall, when I spotted a promotional poster that showed this can and the words 'Be Wild.'
As a collector, I couldn't resist to take this drink home with me.
I wanted to take the poster too, but the salesman was not that friendly.

Packaging:
This energy drink comes in two different sizes: 0.25L and 0.33L
The graphics on both cans are exactly the same, so I'll only have to review them once.
It's a pretty easy design, the can has this halved design that reminds me a bit of the Bullit cans, only this time the colors are black and red.
There's a logo in the center, it's a dark red shield shaped logo with a silver outline.
In the middle of that logo is pretty much the weirdest dragon I've ever seen.
It's head is a dragons head allright, but the thing has a lions' body, horses legs, a devils tail and two wings that look more like fishtails if you ask me.
Is it really a dragon, or some kind of mythical beast?
I don't know and I don't really care either.
Above the logo there's the WILD DRAGON writing, and underneath the logo, ENERGY DRINK is written.
All the text is colored silver on this can.
At last: the can has a custom lid which is colored red.
Why am I telling this? Well, it's pretty much because it's no thing that's very common in the Netherlands, even the Monster cans have standard silver lids...
The can is not that bad, but I think they could have put a little more effort in designing it.

Slogan:
As I mentioned in the little intro; the promotional poster said Be Wild.
The slogan on the can, however is enjoy the power.
I like the promotional posters' slogan better, since it fits in better with the Wild Dragon theme and all.
It appears that Be Wild is their official slogan after all, because it's also used on their site.
So why is there that lame and uninventive enjoy the power on my can?

Taste:
The drink looks and smells pretty standard, which basically means that they're both equal to the Red Bull looks and smell.
That being said, I expected nothing big from this drink.
I took a sip and knew immediately that my expectations were right.
The major taste is pretty standard, and only the aftertaste was something I didn't expect.
The aftertaste is pretty weird and stays in your mouth for a long time.
That's all I have and want to say about this drink; once again, nothing unique.

Kick:
The kick of this drink was nothing special as well.
It takes a long time to kick in and it's nothing big.
It's a really light kick.
After all: I'll say that this is not a drink that you'll buy exclusively for the kick.

Price/Quality Ratio:
Just as the drink, the P/Q ratio is just avarage.
It's not the cheapest drink, but it's not the most expensive one either.
So the P/Q ratio is decent, just decent, which is also a word that fully sums up this entire drink.

Eristoff Red

Price: €1.49
Contains: 0.25L
Alc/Vol.: 7%

I picked up this vodka-energy mix at a local liquor store called Gall & Gall.
Though there isn't a specific mention that it contains energy drink on the can, the drink still contains caffeine and taurine, so it's definately worth a review on our site.

Packaging:
This drink comes in a 0.25L can, which is quite a standard size.
The can is mostly silver and it has red details and text on it.
On the middle there's the typical Eristoff label, which contains the words 'ERISTOFF RED' and 'PREMIUM VODKA BASED SPIRIT.'
Below the Eristoff label, there's another red label that contains the word 'FLASH'.
The can is finished with some nice silver details; there are some silver lines around the Eristoff Red label, and there's the typical Eristoff doghead on top of the 'FLASH' label.
Those silver details are colored in a slightly darker shade of silver than the can body has, creating some kind of watermark effect.
Cool can, I'm a big fan of simple effectivity and this can is a good example of how it's supposed to be done.

Slogan:
There's no slogan on this can.
Let's move on to the next subject.

Taste:
Before I started drinking I followed the usual routine.
I poured in into a glass and took a good look and smell.
The drinks color is a light shade of red (a lighter shade of red than the color of the labels on the can), there's a minimum amount of carbonation present, because there are only few bubbles and there's a very little foam topping.
It smells like vodka, real vodka, though maybe less strong.
The tasted reminded me of a Toppertje, which is basically the same thing.
A Toppertje is also a mix of vodka and energy drink, but it distinguishes itself from Eristoff Red because it's a shot (some variant of a Vluggertje) and contains 10 percent alcohol.
So this drink reminded me of a Toppertje, but it's not as strong, in fact, it doesn't even come close.
The energy drink is hardly noticable in this mix, but that's probably because it's just a small amount.
Still, I like the drink.
It's refreshing, but still gives that nice alcohol feeling (the little burn in the throat, that is).

Kick:
This drink doesn't give any kick at all.
But I'll forgive Eristoff for that; the amount of caffeine and taurine is minimal.

Price/Quality Ratio:
I paid €1.49 for this drink.
In my eyes that is a little too much.
I know it's a good drink and all, but it's still just a 0.25L can.

Red Oktober

This drink comes (just like Blue Tornado and Kremlin) in a massive 1.5 Liter bottle.
The graphics on the bottle are old communist Russian/East-European/Red Army themed; they're mainly red, there's a star present (communist symbol) and 'Red Oktober' is spelled in Cyrillic script on the lower side of the graphics (it reads РЕД ОКТЯБРЬ, from which I think it's pronounced 'Red Oktyabr').
The drink hasn't got the traditional caramel colour; it's tainted red, suggesting a strawberry flavor.
It tastes really good, the taste is a nice mix of the Energy Slammers and Kremlin.
It has that light strawberry flavor of Kremlin, but i can also taste that Slammers sweetness.
Overall: Definately a drink you should give a try.
