Transatlantic Blow Stimulation Drink

Price: €1.29
Contains: 0.25L

I was pretty surprised when I spotted this drink at the local Jumbo supermarket; I was actually just getting some Rockstar...
There wasn't a price tag underneath it yet; that's just how new it was.
Immediately I took 3 with me (one for myself, one for my brother and one for a fellow collector and friend), and the cashier told me that it was going to cost me €3.87.
I was like dude, €1.29 A PIECE?! WTF?! This drink must be mindblowing then, right?

Packaging:

This drink comes in an attractive, white 0.25L slimcan.
The eyecatchers are the crimson Transatlantic Blow-writing and the winged(?) lips logo just above that.
The can is finished with a subtle touch of light-blue dots that are grouped to take on shapes that appear like an overlap between flames and hair.
There is a nice finishing touch on this can: the tab is crimson, really complementing the lips and logo on the can itself.
Custom-colored tabs always seem to be a privilege and a sign of luxury to me.
Why? Well; it's because the bigger brands always seem to be having their own custom lids, instead of the rather uniform silver ones.
The overall appearance of this can seems a bit feminine, with the lips and soft colors and all.
But heck, I won't bother walking on the streets with this can in my hand, as it isn't as obviously meant for women as the She drink did...

Slogan:
There is no such thing as a slogan on the can itself, but there actually is one on the drinks site.
The slogan is 'Stimulate Yourself'.
Well; I have to say that's a bit of a dissapointment.
On the one hand: it is suitable for a stimulation drink, but on the other hand: it isn't really that creative.
They could have tried adapting the lips, the name and maybe even the fact that it has coca extract in it.

Taste:
As usual; I poured this drink into glass.
I found out that the drink had a peculiar 'carbonated water'-like look.
By myself, I couldnt really identify the taste of this drink, so I called in the help of a few friends.
They told me that the taste is very similiar to the Bitter Lemon soft drink, except maybe that they replaced the majority of bitterness with sweetness.
And what does Bitter Lemon taste like? Well... It's in the name.
It has a very bitter lemon-like taste.
I can't say that I really like it, a little too bitter for my taste, but I seem to be the only one that doesn't like it.
It's a matter of taste I guess...

Kick:
This drink does have the average amount of caffeine in it (32mg/100mL), but there is an abcense of taurine that can be noticed.
Poor kick, but at least we can say that this drink did have one, and that's not to be said of every single energy drink we've had.

Price/Quality Ratio:
Well, this is where it gets interesting...
In my opinion: this drink just isn't worth the €1.29 I paid for it.
I disliked the taste, and €1.29 is relatively expensive for a 0.25L can.
However; my friends liked it, and they don't really mind the price.

Rockstar Juiced Mango

Price: €1,29 or €1,39, depending on where you get it.
Contains: 0,5L

Rockstars energy juice combination with mango flavor.
This is one of my personal favorites.

Packaging:
Again, the drink comes in a 0,5L can.
The colour scheme is mainly orange and gold, with some black details.
Like the Rockstar Energy Cola this one also has the aluminum diamond tread plating pattern on it.
The top is once again custom: it's gold with a red lid.
Rockstar always does a good job with the cans, and that also counts for this one: four stars.

Slogan:
I've heard that the true slogan is 'Party like a rockstar'.
Too bad I can't find it anywhere on my can.
All I can find is: 'Rockstar Energy Drink is designed for those who lead active and exhausting lifestyles' and 'Double Size, Double Kick', but I will not count those as a slogan.
I assume that 'Party like a rockstar' really is the true slogan, and I quite like it.
But since it's not to be found on the can, it'll only get three stars.

Taste:
The drink has a yellowish orange colour and the smell of mango is higly noticeable.
It's best recommended if you have a sweet tooth, because this one is a little sweeter than normal.
You can truly taste the juice, the tropical taste of mango really make this drink.
Rockstar Juiced Mango is subtally carbonated and that's good, because too much bubbles can ruin a good energy/juice combination.
Superior drink, real Rockstar quality, I'll reward it a solid five stars

Kick:

I truly got the classic Rockstar kick of this one, it should be, because like with every big energy drink brand the number of energizing ingredients is considerably higher than with the smaller brands.
Next to the standard caffeine and taurine, this drink also contains guarana, ginseng and B-vitamins.
Good kick, four stars.

Price/Quality Ratio:
With a real Rockstar product comes a real Rockstar price.
I paid €1,29 for it, but again it's really worth it.
Four stars, not giving it five because €1,29 still isn't the money you want to pay for a drink everyday.

Rockstar

Price: €1,29 or €1,39, depending on where you get it.
Contains: 0,5L

Rockstar (often typeset as Rockst★r) is one of the bigger brands that we can get in the Netherlands.
I really like the name Rockstar, it really gets to you.
Also I've spotted more Rockstar flavors than I did with Monster, an other big brand (I've spotted 4 Rockstar flavors in The Netherlands already, as opposed to only three Monsters).

Packaging:
This drink comes in a black 0,5L can.
It has a custom top: It's coloured gold with a red lid, which fits in nicely with the overall colour scheme of the can.
The eyecatcher is the Rockstar logo, which is rotated and placed in the lower center of the can.
I really like the combination of gold on black, and it works out nicely on this can.
I'll give four stars for the packaging.

Taste:
I poured this one into a glass and I saw that the drink wasn't caramel coloured, so it really is something special, YAY!
The drink had normal shade of yellow, and it had quite some foam on top.
The taste is really good, it a little bitter and has a touch of sweetness, GREAT!
It's not a Red Bull clone for sure, which really made me happy and excited about this brand.
I'll give this drink four stars.

Kick:
I really felt a buzz after drinking this one.
Pretty odd, I'm not used to energy drinks that actually work...
The kick gets four stars!

Price/Quality Ratio:
The drink is really good, but it did cost me my €1,39.
Well, I guess that's what you can expect of a product of a prime brand in energy drinks.
All I can say is that the quality matches up to the price, but the €1,39 is still pretty expensive.
Neutral: three stars.

Bullit

My expectations were pretty confusing about this one. Someone told me Bullit is a drink from the same factory as Red Bull. Only that it's a Red Bull that didn't match the Red Bull standard, and was sold under the name Bullit. This made me to the conclusion it could taste as a good Red Bull clone. On the other hand i don't want another Red Bull clone, I'm getting sick of it.
Let's skip the can this time.
The energydrink is just another Red Bull clone, that's for sure. But it doens't taste that bad. It's a little lower quality as the Red Bull, so the story might be true, I don't know...

Bullit sugarfree

Bullit sugarfree. On the other hand it's a sugarfree. Motivation gone...
The can itself reminds me to Red Bull, Planer Energy and X-ray. All the same idea of graphics and colours. Silver with black/blue/grey. 50/50. The Bullit logo itself is something that makes me wonder why they choose that logo. Was it because it's a brain-energy or is it because youre multitasking skills will increase?
After tasting it, I know I had to deal with a Red Bull clone and that the story about a 'bad' Red Bull might be true. I don't know, but it's a Red Bull clone for sure. It's a sugarfree also, you can taste that. It isn't as sweet as the regular.

Energy Slammers

Price: they differ per shop, but they're always around 30 cents.
Contains: 0.25L

The Dutch most popular energy drink, it's cheap and available in almost every supermarket.

Packaging:
This 0.25L can has a very easy design.
The body is mainly colored silver, with a red band on the top and one on the bottom.
'ENERGY' is written vertically in black, and the 'R' and the 'G' are seperated by some kind of logo.
I suppose that this must be the Slammers logo; it consists of five red lightingbolts, placed in some kind of circle and rotating clockwise.
The same logo is repeated on the backside; near the ingredients there's a black square with the lightningbolt-logo in silver.
At last, there's still some text on the can.
Underneath (or next to, since it is place vertically) the word 'ENERGY' there's the text: 'SLAMMERS REFRESHING POWERDRINK WITH THE UNIQUE ENERGY TASTE.'

Slogan:
I assume that the slogan is 'WITH THE UNIQUE ENERGY TASTE', and i only assume that because no other thing that looks like a slogan is to be found on this can.
That slogan is not very inventive, and certainly not true.
This drink has anything but an unique energy taste (check the next subject).

Taste:
The drink is caramel colored and smells like every other non-unique energy drink.
I was expecting something like a Red Bull and that was right to a certain extent, but this drink had something different to it.
It's very sweet, in fact I could swear that I taste something sirup-ish in this drink.
I must say that it's not a bad drink, and I can understand why so many people buy them in big amounts at a time, but 'unique' is too big of a word.
The can is exaggerating!

Kick:
The drink contains 32 milligrams of caffeine per 100 mL, which is quite standard for an energy drink.
The kick, however, really isn't something to write home about; decent, but far from the best ever
.

Price/Quality Ratio:
The drink itself is decent.
But for 30 cents, it's great!
I've never seen anyone buying just one at a time, and why would you, if you can buy such a decent drink for such a low price?

Blue Bastard

Price: €0,45
Contains: 0,25L

'Awfully cool taste'. The small slogan what is on the can. It's something else as 'Serve chilled', great!
The can has a lovely pitbull on it, in silver colour with blue lines and white spikes. The can itself is black with grey, so not 100% black. The whole can has a blue/silver feeling, wich contrasts nice with the yellow 'blue bastard' text.
The tast on the other hand isn't that great. Another Red Bull clone... Still, I'm happy, It doesn't taste bad for the €0,45 I paid for it. In fact, when I get get those, I'll buy 24 of them. As a little variation between Bullit, Rodeo and the bigger Monsters and Rockstars.

B-52

B-52, the first energy-bottle I saw in my life. So I bought it right away.
5 Minutes later I knew I had to deal with another Red Bull clone. Besides that, it is cool to have an energy bottle between your cans. Further it ain't special.
